Where investors want restaurant and café franchises in Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia
The short answer: between 5 and 23 October 2026, 7Grounds tracked 146 public investor requests that named food and beverage together with the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar. The UAE leads with 78, followed by Saudi Arabia with 46 and Qatar with 36. Two in three investors (66%) want to buy a restaurant or café that already trades, only 18% ask for a new franchise unit, and the most common ticket is US$50,000 to 150,000. Dubai, Doha, Jeddah and the Eastern Province are the places named most often.
This is a closer look at the strongest cluster in our Gulf investor demand report for Q4 2026, followed by the homegrown chains visibly growing in the same three markets.
Where does this data come from?
7Grounds reads public requests that investors and buyers post on open deal marketplaces, where they state what they want to buy, in which market and with what budget. Each request is classified by sector, market, intent and budget band. We publish no names or contact details, and nothing here refers to a specific person. These counts describe public demand that 7Grounds tracks: they show intent, not completed deals. One request can name more than one market, so the market totals add up to more than 146.
Which market draws the most food and beverage demand?
| Market | Requests | Buy a running business | New franchise | Stake as investor | Most common budget |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| UAE | 78 | 48 | 17 | 11 | US$50k–150k (27) |
| Saudi Arabia | 46 | 32 | 6 | 7 | US$50k–150k (14) |
| Qatar | 36 | 24 | 6 | 6 | US$50k–150k (13) |
The UAE is the deepest pool and the most open to franchising: 17 of its 78 requests (22%) ask for a franchise unit, against 17% in Qatar and 13% in Saudi Arabia. It also has the widest middle, with 23 requests between US$150,000 and 500,000. Dubai alone is named in 41 requests and Sharjah in nine.
Saudi Arabia is spread across the whole range, from 13 first-time investors under US$50,000 to 11 above US$500,000. Its demand points to Jeddah (17 requests) and the Eastern Province (16) more often than to Riyadh, which appears in only nine.
Qatar is the most polarised market. 12 of its 36 requests sit above US$500,000, only two sit between US$150,000 and 500,000, and 30 requests name Doha directly. Qatari demand is either a single outlet bought with personal savings or a group-level move into several concepts at once.
Do investors want a franchise or a running restaurant?
A running business wins in every market. 96 of the 146 requests (66%) aim to buy an operating restaurant, café or food company, 27 (18%) want a franchise, 20 (14%) want a stake as investors and three seek a partnership. Even so, the word franchise appears in 66 requests, because many buyers will take either route: an existing outlet of a known brand or a new unit, as long as the numbers are visible.
A restaurant with trading history shows revenue, a team and a location that already works. A new unit asks the investor to trust a model before it has proven itself on that street. The risks change shape rather than disappear: an existing outlet can carry a weak lease or a seller who is leaving for a reason, while a new franchise carries ramp-up time and fit-out cost. We set the two routes side by side in franchise or an existing business: which fits your capital better.
Which formats are investors asking for?
Restaurants dominate. 91 requests mention a restaurant, 42 a café or coffee concept, 16 quick-service food, nine cloud kitchens and seven bakeries or desserts. A restaurant operator in Al Rayyan wants a restaurant or cloud kitchen in Doha with a distinctive menu and a strong delivery presence, up to QAR 170,000. A Qatari restaurant group is looking for food trucks or restaurant and café franchises in Doha, up to QAR 3 million. A buyer in Jeddah wants an existing café or restaurant with an equipped kitchen and more than 200 square metres, up to SAR 200,000. A franchisee relocating from the United States to Dubai is looking for quick-service or healthy juice concepts up to US$55,000.
How much capital is coming, and from whom?
32 requests (22%) are under US$50,000, 49 (34%) sit between US$50,000 and 150,000, 31 (21%) between US$150,000 and 500,000 and 34 (23%) above US$500,000. 125 of the 146 requests (86%) come from individuals rather than companies. Where investors state a role, 14 want to operate the business themselves and 10 want a passive or managed position.
For a seller or a brand, that profile means one thing: most buyers are placing personal capital and will ask for clear unit economics before anything else. That is why we wrote franchise unit economics made simple.
What is happening in the market around this demand?
The wider picture fits the requests. In the UAE, the Emirates Franchise Association joined Future Food Forum 2026 as franchise partner, and its board said the food sector has moved from building successful businesses to scaling them; projections cited there put the UAE food and beverage market near US$44 billion by 2029 (IndexBox, citing TradeArabia, 4 October 2026). In Qatar, the second Taste of Qatar session held by Qatar Tourism on 6 October 2026 put Qatari café and restaurant founders on stage and called culinary a sector with promising opportunities for growth and investment (Gulf Times). In Saudi Arabia, Monsha’at counted 1,514 franchise brands at the end of Q2 2026, 744 of them local (Monsha’at, 12 July 2026).
Which homegrown chains are growing in these markets now?

What should an investor check before buying into a Gulf restaurant or café?
| Check | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Trading history | 24 months of monthly sales, split between dine-in, takeaway and delivery |
| Delivery dependence | The share of revenue from delivery apps and the commission paid on it |
| Lease | Remaining term, renewal terms and rent as a share of sales |
| Licences | Trade licence, municipality and food safety approvals, and whether they transfer |
| Brand rights | Franchise term, territory, transfer clause, royalty and marketing fund |
| People | Contracts of the head chef and manager, visa sponsorship and the handover period |
| Fit-out | Age of kitchen equipment and the cost of refreshing it within three years |
| Payback | A realistic break-even month built from the numbers above, not from a sales deck |
For the full due-diligence route, use our 10 checks before you sign a franchise. No list replaces independent legal and financial advice in the market where you buy, and no opportunity guarantees a return.
What does this mean for your next move?
Food and beverage capital in the Gulf is looking for proof more than novelty, and the strongest conversations are forming around outlets that already trade in Dubai, Doha, Jeddah and the Eastern Province. If you own a proven food brand ready for Gulf partners, this same demand is the audience 7G PRO was built to reach.
Capital follows evidence. In Gulf food and beverage this quarter, evidence means an outlet that already trades, numbers that stand up and a partner who hands over well.

Her pazarda çalışan işletme kazanıyor.
146 talebin 125’i (%86) şirketlerden değil bireylerden geliyor.
Suudi Arabistan’da Monsha’at, 2026’nın ikinci çeyreği sonunda 744’ü yerel olmak üzere 1.514 franchise markası saydı (Monsha’at, 12 Temmuz 2026).
World Coffee Portal, BAE ve uluslararası pazarlarında 23 satış noktası saydı (6 Ağustos 2026).
- Coffee Planet (BAE). 2005’te kurulan ve Dubai’de kavurma yapan bu nitelikli kahve markası, Dubai’deki Serena Centre’da ve Abu Dabi Al Reem Adası’ndaki Pixel Towers’ta iki mahalle kahvecisi açtı (Hotel & Catering, 14 Ekim 2026).
