Combined with 100% foreign ownership for most mainland activities in the UAE, it has made the corridor one of the most practical routes for Turkish brands going global.<\/div><p>The UAE is often the first stop for Turkish brands entering the Gulf. It is international, business-friendly and well connected to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the region. The trade numbers since CEPA show how much the corridor has opened up.<\/p>\n<h2>The numbers<\/h2>\n<ul><li>CEPA between the UAE and T\u00fcrkiye entered into force on <strong>1 September 2023<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Bilateral non-oil trade reached <strong>USD 45.2 billion in 2025<\/strong>, up 15.5% on 2024.<\/li>\n<li>That is nearly <strong>three times<\/strong> the 2022 level, before the agreement.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2>Why it matters for Turkish brands<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Lower barriers for products.<\/strong> CEPA reduces tariffs on a wide range of goods, which helps private-label, food and consumer brands that export from T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full ownership is possible.<\/strong> Under the UAE&#8217;s Commercial Companies Law, foreign investors can own 100% of mainland companies for most commercial and industrial activities, so a Turkish brand can set up its own entity instead of relying only on a local partner. Some strategic activities remain restricted, so check your activity code.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agency rules have changed.<\/strong> The Commercial Agencies Law (Federal Law No. 3 of 2022, in force since June 2023) gives principals more flexibility to end or not renew agency relationships. The UAE has no dedicated franchise law, so your franchise agreement itself carries most of the protection. Draft it carefully with UAE counsel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trademarks can be filed through Madrid.<\/strong> The UAE has been part of the Madrid System since December 2021.<\/p>\n<h2>Why it matters for Gulf investors<\/h2>\n<p>The same corridor works in reverse. Gulf investors can back proven Turkish concepts, either by bringing them to the UAE or by investing in T\u00fcrkiye, where foreign direct investment reached USD 13.1 billion in 2025.
